Properties of Lightweight Controlled Low-Strength Materials Using Construction Waste and EPS for Oil and Gas Pipelines

Due to its particularity and importance, long-distance oil gas pipelines need be well protected from damage by backfill materials. In this study, construction waste expanded polystyrene (EPS) were used replace conventional fine aggregate, ethylene vinyl acetate-resin (EVA) was modify the surface of EPS prepare lightweight controlled low strength materials (CLSM). Lightweight CLSM tested in mechanics physics microstructure studied using microscopic analysis methods. The results revealed that modification EVA could greatly improve compatibility with inorganic cementitious a fluidity greater than 200 mm. cement content play an important role development material strength. When volume ratio 2, 35%, CLSM’s unconfined compressive at 28 days only 0.48 MPa. order obtain meets mechanical properties, should not too large. It can concluded increase will lead poor pore uniformity specimen, forming loose mesh structure defects, which is conducive are provide green idea for preparing materials, provides reference protection future.
